  • Director of College Access - Minnesota Office Reports to: Sr. Director of Program Operations About College Possible College Possible is a growing nonprofit coaching students from low-income backgrounds to and through college to break the cycle of poverty and empower the next generation of leaders. Our model has earned national recognition: the inaugural Evergreen National Education Award recognized our leadership in increasing access to and success in college for students from low-income backgrounds. It also earns top-of-field results: a Harvard study found that the program more than doubles a student's chance of enrolling in a four-year college, and our students are four times more likely to become college graduates than their low-income peers. College Possible has a budget of $25 million, more than 140 full-time employees and more than 270 AmeriCorps and VISTA service members. Your Role as Director of College Success As the Director of College Access, you are responsible for evidence-based, data-informed college access program outcomes and managing a team of leaders. In this role, you will collaborate with senior leaders and community stakeholders to strengthen College Possible's college access strategy to increase student enrollment and persistence through college. You will supervise program managers and oversee the development, administration and evaluation of College Possible's college access program in Minnesota. The Program Director reports to the Senior Director of Program Operations and collaborates to set and manage program objectives and key results that are aligned to the overall organizational and program strategy. The Director will represent College Possible in the community and serve as a secondary liaison to school district partners.
    • Ensure Program Quality & Provide Organizational Management : Ensure the delivery of high quality programming to students, including maintaining and enhancing relationships with school districts, school partners, and community partners. Work collaboratively with the National team to ensure program implementation and on site innovations in Minnesota. Develop systems for program delivery at current sites and leads on exploring and piloting program innovations, in collaboration with our National team, that drive increased outcomes for students. Oversee College Possible's Navigate program across the state. Provide broad program leadership with an emphasis on cultivating and enhancing a strong organizational culture in a culturally responsive manner.
    • Evaluate, Track, and Report on Progress : Ensure successful results for Minnesota students. Track, evaluate, and report on college access programmatic progress on a regular basis, as well as develop program improvements. Work with the National data team to use, analyze, and evaluate programmatic data to identify trends and progress toward goals. Use appropriate benchmarks and internal and external comparatives to measure program success. Recommend and lead implementation of interventions as needed to achieve desired program outcomes. Lead on site level college access program evaluation and works closely with College Possible Minnesota's senior leadership team to ensure compliance with AmeriCorps policies and regulations.
    • Supervise, Train and Support Program Staff: Provide overall leadership for the college access team to ensure positive morale and focus on delivering results for students. Supervise Program Managers to manage the day-to-day activities of the program staff (Program Coordinators and AmeriCorps Coaches). Ensure that all team members have the training, development tools and resources needed to deliver the program well and with fidelity to national program design . Ensure staff and service member alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Oversee annual college access program training, and work closely with the Senior Director of Program Operations on site-wide orientation efforts. Lead the college access team in providing a positive AmeriCorps member experience that meets organizational goals and expectations. Ensure compliance with AmeriCorps requirements. Provide oversight on local training plans for AmeriCorps and ensure execution by program staff.
    • External Partnerships and Community Engagement: Build and maintain partnerships with key external stakeholder groups throughout the state of Minnesota including, but not limited to, school districts and other key high school partners, partner organizations, other community-wide college access and success initiatives. Additionally, the Director serves as a key representative of College Possible in community settings, such as local board meetings, school district activities or community leadership events and assists with fundraising efforts when appropriate.
    • Manage Access Program Budget for the Site: In collaboration with the Senior Director of Program Operations, develop and implement college access program budget each fiscal year. Evaluate program-related expenditures. Analyze budget performance on a monthly basis.
    • Other duties as assigned . What You Bring Education/Certifications/Licenses: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. Related Work Experience:
      • At least 5 years of related successful experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility
      • Strong management abilities and significant experience managing people and programs
      • Experience developing and managing managers
      • Experience in leading and managing cross functional teams
      • Demonstrated experience in using data to drive outcomes
      • Experience in classroom instruction and curriculum design, preferred, with a familiarity with college admission and college access issues preferred;
      • Vision and demonstrated ability to develop, promote, and deliver positive results
      • Proven commitment and ability to work with diverse populations
      • Proven record of facilitating collaboration and cooperation with organizations and the community Computer/Software Skills : Strong computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience in database management.           • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when needed
