Description Full-time management position on our St. Paul campus leading two dynamic areas; the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Respiratory Care Department. This position provides department level leadership direction and support to implement the strategic and operational objectives of Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Respiratory Care Department. The position has responsibility for ensuring the provision of high quality, safe care and achieving exemplary patient experiences while developing an engaged staff and provider group. The incumbent will monitor overall practice performance, identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and improve patient experience, with a strong focus on standardization of workflow. In collaboration with the dyad physician partner they will develop and support innovative practice and services that enhance and ensure the highest quality experience for patients, families and staff. Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient's condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams, consistent with our Gillette CARES expectations.

  • Coordinating the 24-hour/7 days per week access and delivery of service to meet quality, safety, timely, effective, efficient and patient and family centered care expectations.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated ability to complete projects successfully, on time, and within budget.
  • Ability to work with key clinical partners within and outside of Gillette to ensure excellence in provision of care.
  • Ensuring that adequately trained staff is available and properly assigned to support the care delivery and achieve the desired patient and organizational outcomes.
  • Coordinating and/or negotiating goals and service provision with multi-disciplinary and multi-facility team members.
  • Managing competing needs of growth, program development and financial goals.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships and communication to advance the care, services and goals. Qualifications - Required:
    • Master's degree with a clinical or business focus obtained or in progress
    • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience relevant to the position
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inpatient operations, nursing leadership, supervisory or managerial role within a relevant clinical setting
    • Interest in and commitment to advancing services for individuals with disabilities.
    • Demonstrated managerial leadership including:
    • Ability to design and execute new and significantly revised workflows and processes on time and within budget
    • Ability to manage across function and service types with excellence in staff engagement, customer experience, and operational efficiency
    • Ability to define, analyze and interpret business information needs to promote and sustain successful operations from customer experience, revenue cycle, and operational efficiency perspectives. Preferred:
      • Doctorate degree in related field
      • Additional educational preparation and/or professional certification or advancement
