Director, Demand Generation and Paid MediaLocation: Greater Minneapolis - St. Paul AreaSummarySelf Esteem Brands is seeking an individual to join our team as Director of Demand Generation and Paid Media supporting our entire portfolio of brands (Anytime Fitness, Waxing the City, The Bar Method, Basecamp Fitness). As our Director of Demand Generation and Paid Media, you will play a key role in driving the growth of our brands through the successful management of our demand generation function through paid media marketing programs. This position will report to the Vice President, Digital Marketing, and will have supervisory responsibilities for one or more direct reports.Position ObjectiveSEB is looking for a strategic, passionate, and results-oriented digital marketer to lead our paid media marketing programs and teams, with responsibility for setting strategy, managing budgeting/forecasting/annual planning, executional oversight of marketing campaigns, and ongoing optimizations and reporting. This individual will be expected to provide strong leadership and strategic direction to drive business, marketing and revenue objectives.The Director of Demand Generation and Paid Media will be expected to drive meaningful growth in brand awareness, consideration, and lead generation across all brands through campaigns and always-on marketing tactics. Most notably this individual will serve as a pivotal agent of digital marketing innovation in the fields of paid and social media marketing and champion a test-and-learn culture within the marketing department.This candidate should have the right mix of domain knowledge, strategy ownership and team management. A proven ability to prioritize and activate successful marketing programs that drive measurable business impact. Furthermore, this position will ensure our brands success with digital marketing but will also help build what the future of advertising and paid digital marketing looks like for our brands.Primary ResponsibilitiesPaid Media Strategy & Management* Responsible for paid media strategy and success of national and always-on paid media efforts for all brands in the SEB portfolio as well as B2B franchise development. * Collaborate with brand teams to develop engaging multi-channel campaigns to drive measurable increases in brand awareness and lead generation.* Manage paid media budget including forecasting, channel allocation and in-flight budget shifts and approval coordination.* Daily management of agency partners and responsible for coordinating external workstream to drive business and marketing objectives.* Daily management of paid media efforts led by internal teams; oversee campaign planning, goal-setting, media placement, optimization, and performance reporting, with a focus on PPC and social channels* Ability to dig into campaign performance on PPC and social channels, identify opportunities for optimizations to coach internal teams and govern agency partners as needed.* Provide consultation and insights for tracking strategies, scenario planning and ROI analysis.* Forecast performance and budget appropriately for paid media and other digital channels.* Assist in reporting of media performance and effectiveness against goals through management of media dashboards, trackers and campaign recaps.* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create annual strategies/plans and forecast estimated results based on budgets.* Act as an internal thought leader in the paid media space through the tracking of industry and market trends, platform updates, emerging channels and competitive insights.Team Management/Leadership* Manage and mentor a team of one or more direct reports.* Coach and develop direct reports through real-time feedback while providing skill development opportunities and motivation.* Lead digital team meetings and provide support/advocacy for departmental initiatives.* Lead a center-of-excellence in digital marketing to provide best practices and recommendations to brand leaders and SEB stakeholders. * Develop and maintain productive cross-functional relationships particularly across Operations, Franchisee Comm, Sales, Brand Teams and executive leaders.Required Job Qualifications* 10+ years of digital marketing experience with an emphasis on paid media management* Bachelor s degree in marketing, communications or related field (MBA strongly preferred)* Deep experience planning and managing demand generation programs that produce high quality opportunities and create exponential revenue.* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels, including addressing opportunities, risks, and strategic positioning with brand and business leaders* Subject matter expert level understanding of performance advertising, search and metrics/reporting. Furthermore, expertise of the major technology-driven changes and trends affecting the media and advertising industries, and deep knowledge of the digital media buying ecosystem* Experience successfully managing external partners (agencies/vendors) and internal teams (both formally and informally).Preferred Job Qualifications* Knowledge of digital marketing tools along the complete customer lifecycle (CRM, Email, Owned Properties) and experience coordinating multi-channel, integrated campaigns.* Experience with social media strategy, performance goals, measurement, channel tactics etc.* Experience at an agency, ad network or at a demand side platform creating and executing exchange based programmatic strategies while managing teams responsible for executing campaigns through DSPs, purchasing and using data, and advising marketing teams on audience buying strategies.Personal Characteristics* Results-oriented, driven to deliver agreed upon outcomes under constraints.* Strategic thinker with an ability to be flexible and adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and change, and skilled at finding creative solutions to marketing problems and opportunities.* Ability to manage multiple tasks and complex deadlines in a fast-paced environment balancing cross-brand priorities and interests.* Creative and collaborative team player who can work with multiple stakeholder groups, influence decisions, and work under pressure in fast-paced environment.* Seasoned leader with warm and inviting presence* Relentless learner and student of the digital industry* Strong relationship-builder, both within the organization and with external partners* Ability to inspire and support people to gain trust and build positive energy* Team player, advocating and exemplifying a cooperative approach to solving problems* Curious business mind, with a willingness to consider new approaches and ideas Associated topics: ad, cmo, demand, event, government, hospital, lead generation, media, policies, social media
