Securian Financial Groups internal position title is Infrastructure Consultant. Position Summary: As the ServiceNow Engineer you will be the technical engineer for ServiceNow enterprise technology platform. Responsible for the direction, engineering, maintenance, enhancement, availability, and automation of existing infrastructure technologies and supporting processes. Focus is on the execution and maintenance of our environments supporting both internal and external facing application solutions, ensuring technologies are available and performing in order to meet business needs. You will lead and perform technical proof-of-concepts, research to determine trends that impact the ServiceNow technology platform and ITSM processes and develop solutions providing more value and transparency to meet business requirements. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Maintain, support, and develop the ServiceNow platform. Engineer ServiceNow solutions to ensure the enterprise is optimally utilizing the base system capabilities of the ServiceNow platform while meeting business requirements. Establish design and capability guidelines with new and existing ServiceNow capabilities to ensure the overall integrity of the ServiceNow platform is maintained. Define and implement policies, processes, and procedures following best practices for the enterprise using the ServiceNow technology platform. Establishing and communicating enterprise best practices for processes to internal associates; especially Configuration Management, CMDB Maintenance, HRDS, ITBM, and integrations with other ITIL processes. Conducting and leading requirements gathering sessions and workshops for the Service Catalog, configuration models (CIs, attributes, and relationship models) and the CMDB. Preparing design specifications and functional requirements. Engineering integrations of ServiceNow and 3rd party solutions and internally developed applications. Develop and maintain standards and best practices for the enterprise's usage of the ServiceNow platform by community developers. Collaborate with analyst to confirm understanding of business requirements relating to features to be delivered and to help the analyst define requirements that can be delivered from a technical perspective. Research and recommend new ServiceNow platform functionality and capabilities that will bring value to the enterprise. Provide project leadership and project coordination. Train internal associates and administrators in the use and configuration of ServiceNow applications. Produce and assemble business requirements documents, functional requirements documents, and solution design documents. Conduct post-execution review to ensure effectiveness. Qualifications: 3 to 5 years of engineering experience with the ServiceNow technology platform or comparable Service Management technology platform. Experience with ServiceNow, or equivalent Service Management tool, for analysis, design, development, and integration with other applications. Experience with 3rd party software integration with ServiceNow. Configure ServiceNow Discovery and Orchestration. Experience with GitHub and/or Jenkins. Project management and leadership skills with proven ability to deliver outcomes on complex service management initiatives and transformations. Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information and ideas at all business levels. Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to assess customer needs, creatively approach solutions, decide, and influence appropriate courses of action. Preferred Qualifications: ServiceNow certified administration and/or application developer. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, education, and certification. ITIL knowledge and certifications. Advanced scripting experience. This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement. Physical job requirements: Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to work at least 40 hours per week. Ability to utilize telephone for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to perform grasping tasks throughout the entire work day (examples: handwriting, grasping of equipment/machines, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, handling stacks of paper).
