What you'll get to do every day:

  • Support business line and project engineering with accurate communication and representation of HMC's capabilities.
  • Develops processes, fixtures, equipment, and documentation (WI, prints, inspection, etc) for project requirements.
  • Ensure that proper technology processes are developed, implemented, maintained and documented to successfully introduce new products into manufacturing.
  • Assume responsibility for completeness and accuracy of developed processes (i.e., lead, manage, communicate, complete documentation, train) including ownership of process capability, process quality, and process costs.
  • Involved in prototyping, process development (such as characterization and DOEs), confirmation runs, and validation. Available to support and trouble shoot production or ramp up issues as needed.
  • Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Use statistical tools to analyze data, make development decisions, and improve process capability (Six Sigma, SPC, DOE).
  • Assist in new equipment/tooling identification, procurement, installation qualification, document creation, and training.
  • Identify new technologies in accordance with site and customer priorities to improve efficiency, quality, reduce costs, and meet market technology needs.

    What we're looking for in you:
    • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or related technical field required.
    • A minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience required.
    • Process experience in one or more of the following highly desired: medical device or component manufacturing, micro-assembly, reflow, laser ablation/welding/marking, machining
      • Process capability and data analysis experience is preferred
      • Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English. Must be able to clearly articulate and listen attentively to questions, concerns and feedback from coworkers and customers. Must be able to create legible, accurate, and detailed documents that clearly communicate product and manufacturing expectations.
        • Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment and CAD/CAM experience or training; SolidWorks highly desired or equivalent job experience
        • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills. Experience interfacing with customers preferred
        • Highly motivated hands-on engineer with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
        • Must be willing and able to work between the Fridley and White Bear Lake facilities as business needs require
