you.Medical Equipment Technician - DOTMedical Equipment Technicians
are responsible for ensuring safe delivery, providing setup, and
education in usage of home medical equipment for our customers.
Drives company vehicles at or above 10,001 pounds and requires DOT
compliance. Setup is done in their home or long-term care
setting.Job Duties:Operates sprinter, box truck or other vehicle at
or above 10,001 pounds and requires DOT complianceDevelop and
maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services
offered by the company and all applicable governmental
regulationsComply with all applicable company policies and
proceduresManage territory to reach service goals and deliver
equipment including oxygen as required in accordance with industry
standardsEducate customers in proper use and care of respiratory
and HME equipment in a home settingComplete written patient visits
reports following setup and follow-up visits as requiredAssist with
customer equipment problems under emergency conditionsProcess all
orders in a timely, accurate mannerPromote services and products to
referral sources in the community as appropriateDevelop basic
reimbursement knowledge and completely document all information
necessary to ensure reimbursement for all appropriate equipment,
products, and servicesAssist with implementation of quality
improvement program to meet company policiesMaintain home oxygen
systems through regularly scheduled visits to customersAssume
on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance
with company policyPerform routine preventative maintenance and
simple repairs on equipment as required in accordance with company
policiesReport equipment hazards and/or product incidents as
required in accordance with company policies and proceduresSafely
drive and maintain company vehiclePerform patient assessment and
re-assessment for patient careRetain knowledge of and consistently
adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE), infection control and hazardous materials handling.Maintains
knowledge and understands OSHA, DOT and FDA regulations and
requirements for oxygen transportationAbility to clearly express
understanding of DOT regulations regarding driving distances during
On Duty hours not exceeding the 150/100 air mile radius from their
starting work locationMaintains understanding of all DOT
requirements including travel log and be able to present upon
demand by a DOT or roadside inspectionOther duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Job Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalencyEntry
level sales, customer service background essentialMilitary,
delivery driver with sales component or health care technician
experience would be considered related experienceOne (1) year of
HME delivery experience preferredValid and unrestricted driver's
license in the state of residenceCurrent DOT Medical Examiners
Certificate (DOT Medical Card)Physical Demands and Work
Environment:Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 85
pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 160 poundsMust be able to
stretch, bend, stoop and crouch and perform moderate to heavy
physical labor while moving equipment, hazardous materials, and
