Job Description Job Description Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1 years Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Anoka, MN-based elementary school is seeking an Onsite Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) for the 2025-2026 school year to provide essential support within the special education department. This contract position, running from January through early June, offers a meaningful opportunity to positively impact student behavior and success across four elementary schools. Key Responsibilities: - Consult with school teams to design and implement positive behavior interventions and supports tailored to student needs. - Conduct functional behavior assessments to guide effective behavior plans. - Collaborate closely with another BIS, the Special Education Administrator, and school staff. - Implement strategies to reinforce positive behaviors, use de-escalation techniques, and appropriately redirect behaviors as needed, including restrictive procedures when required. - Support the creation and execution of individualized education plans in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines. - Provide staff training on behavioral strategies and recommendations. - Maintain a safe environment for all students and staff. - Utilize behavioral data to inform programming and support student progress. - Adapt flexibly to the needs of students, remaining calm and effective during crisis situations. - Uphold all school policies and administrative procedures. Qualifications: - Licensed BCBA or Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 license required if applying as a SpEd Teacher). - Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and implementing behavior support plans. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to maintain professionalism and provide effective training to staff. - Competency in data-driven decision making and crisis management. Work Details: - Location: Anoka, MN - Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM (37.5 hours per week) - Duration: January 5, 2026 June 5, 2026 - Supports four elementary schools within the district This role offers a dynamic environment where behavioral specialists can directly contribute to enhancing educational outcomes for students with diverse needs.
