Position Overview
The Department of Educational Psychology, College of Education and Human Development, University of Minnesota invites applications for an instructional leader in School Psychology. This is a full-time, annually renewable, 9-month, non-tenure-track, contract faculty position at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor. This position is related to new grants acquired by the program and funded through at least 2028. The anticipated starting date for this appointment is August 26, 2024 and the salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Additional benefits of the position can include post-doctoral supervision toward psychology licensure and opportunities for summer funding.The University of Minnesota encourages a healthy work life balance for employees. Job ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Supervision (80%)

  • Lead instructional design and pedagogy to facilitate delivery of school psychology curriculum, as well as continuous improvement of program curriculum and instruction to support the program's goals and needs for recruitment, retention, anti-racism/DEI, and accreditation
  • Teach 12-24 credits of undergraduate and graduate-level school psychology coursework including, but not limited to, practicum, assessment, prevention and intervention.
  • Engage in student support duties as assigned and appropriate to experience and credentialing, including but not limited to, practicum supervision, masters-level student advising and mentorship, and assistance with licensure preparation.
  • Contribute to ongoing program development by providing expertise, oversight, and coordination of key dimensions of programming related to accreditation.
  • Develop and deliver courses in ways that effectively account for a variety of diverse backgrounds, communities, identities, and abilities.
    Service (20%)
    • Collaborate with program, department, and college administrative staff to support degree, licensure/credential, and accreditation processes.
    • Contribute to preparation for institutional and external approval/accreditation review processes.
    • Actively participate in national, local, and/or state professional school psychology associations to help further professional development, support professional licensure, and support curricular development in the program.
    • Participate in other department/college/university and community/professional service as deemed relevant and of interest.

      Qualifications





      Required Qualifications
      • Earned doctorate in School Psychology from an APA-accredited program by start date.
      • MN School Psychology license, or eligibility for and plan to obtain by start date.
      • School-based experience providing school psychological services in general and special education contexts (e.g., practica, internship, or P12 employment).
      • Commitment to an anti-racist scientist-practitioner orientation
        Preferred Qualifications
        • Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, by the MN Board of Psychology. Post-doctoral supervision can be provided if necessary.
        • Strong understanding of undergraduate and graduate instruction, supervision, and mentoring.
        • Teaching and service experience in a university setting.
        • Experience working in the areas of multitier systems of support, prevention, intervention, consultation, and special education evaluation and services for P12 students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
        • Experience advising or supervising school psychology trainees.
