Job Duties/Responsibilities:
70% teaching and scholarly mentoring: Successful candidates will
have experience, passion for teaching, and contemporary clinical
practice knowledge in areas of the faculty member's expertise.
Candidates should have capability for mentorship of DPT and
possibly PhD students. Specific expertise is expected for
coordinating content experts in clinical physiology and
pathophysiology, as well as contributing direct teaching in
additional areas of content where expertise exists. Areas of
teaching expertise that best align with current DPT Program needs
include acute care, community and population health, wellness and
public health, complex medical conditions, geriatrics and aging, or
clinical practice administration, reimbursement, and marketing.
Other areas of teaching expertise can be considered. Faculty will
lead a DPT student research group (6 credits) annually.
10% research: The faculty member will contribute to the research
mission of the Division and institution. This will include pursuing
a defined research agenda in their selected area of expertise.
20% service: All faculty are expected to contribute to committee
and professional service, and faculty governance of both the DPT
and PhD programs, as well as the Department, Medical School, and
University. Experienced faculty will be expected to provide
mentorship to junior faculty and provide leadership to the
Division, and broader University.

Qualifications
The position requires a physical therapy degree with eligibility
for licensure in Minnesota. An earned academic doctorate or
clinical board certification is expected. Appointment at the
Associate Professor level or higher will require a minimum of 6
years of academic faculty experience. Preference will be given to
applicants with prior academic experience; a history of scholarly
publications, strong interpersonal skills, a team-based philosophy,
and commitment and passion for the profession of physical therapy
and its ongoing advancement to benefit care provision and patient
outcomes for the diverse populations we serve. Candidates should
have a demonstrated capacity for collaboration across the academic
setting.
