The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota seeks to fill two full-time faculty positions at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor (tenured) or Professor (tenured) level.The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a vigorous program of original research at a world-class level, advise a diverse group of graduate students, teach a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science (CEMS), and participate in Departmental and University governance.

Outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. in any area related to chemical engineering and materials science will be considered, including biology, chemistry, physics, and other related engineering disciplines. Candidates should have a distinguished academic and research record appropriate to their career stage, a commitment to teaching in a highly interdisciplinary department, and advancing its diversity and excellence.

This statement should clearly identify the significance of the research, background supporting the premise for success, your short-term research goals, and the long-term vision for the research program you would develop at the University of Minnesota. This statement could also identify anticipated opportunities for collaboration, utilization of existing shared facilities or resources at UMN, or specialized capabilities you seek to develop.Teaching Statement (maximum length = 2 pages) - Describe how you anticipate contributing to CEMS's teaching mission. This statement should include a discussion of your teaching philosophy and the pedagogical strategies you anticipate implementing. Teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels should be considered. Diversity Statement (maximum length = 2 pages) - Describe how you would advance the University of Minnesota's goal of creating a positive campus climate that is both inclusive and diverse.
