Job Description:
*At Securian Asset Management the internal title for this position
is Customer Operations Consultant.
Overview:
This Client Service & Reporting Consultant is responsible for
client service and reporting activities related to all internally
and externally managed assets; including Minnesota Life, Securian
Life and affiliate portfolios; external CML and Private Placement
assets and AAM sub-advised assets.-- - The Client Service team
functions as the primary client resource on all service and
reporting activities.-- - Critical functions include the supply of
investment data and ongoing reporting related to internal and
external portfolios managed by Securian Asset Management.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-- - Produce standard monthly and quarterly reporting, as well as
other ad hoc reporting ensuring adherence to Securian AM reporting
standards and policies.
-- - Assists Manager in setting criteria in determining Securian AM
standard and specialized reporting packets for all client types in
conjunction with industry standards and ensuring competitive
positioning.
-- - Perform Client Portal administrative functions and serve as
product expert for Securian AM reporting applications, including
creating/sharing reports, creating new account access, setting up
aggregates, resolving issues, conducting training sessions for
external clients, etc.
-- - Perform commercial mortgage loan (-------CML----- -) --
-queuing and ad hoc reporting.
-- - Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the NAIC Filings process
for Fixed Income and Equity Securities for affiliate and client
accounts.
-- - Collaborate with Private Placement analysts to provide the
NAIC with appropriate documentation for exempt holdings for initial
and ongoing yearly filings.
-- - Manage the RMBS/CMBS annual modeling process.
-- - Lead and/or support projects to implement new
systems/applications, or significantly alter data processes.
-- - Coordinates with Operations, Data Governance, and Portfolio
Management teams on reporting requirements for new security and
product data needs to meet reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
-- - 5+ years of experience with investments, including portfolio
management strategies and analytics.
-- - BS in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
-- - Strong problem solving and analytical ability to evaluate user
needs and provide solutions in complex situations.
-- - Ability to work independently with minimal guidance both in
day-to-day responsibilities but also on larger firm-wide
projects.
-- - Solid interpersonal skills to interact with high impact
clients, senior management, portfolio managers and other Securian
AM teams.-- -
-- - Proven ability to develop reports and disseminate information
in an organized and professional format.
-- - Strong technical and analytical systems skills (such as
Clearwater, Bloomberg, PLM, Python, FactSet, MS Excel and
PowerPoint, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
-- - Experience in the Asset Management or Insurance
industries.
-- - CFA designation or working on CFA would be preferred.
-- - Application experience/proficiencies: Clearwater, Tableau,
Bloomberg, FactSet, Python.
Physical Job Requirements:
-- - Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
-- - Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 3-6
hours per day.
-- - Ability to utilize telephone for approximately 1-4 hours per
day.
-- - Ability to meet the physical demands of travel - approximately
2 trips/year. This includes the ability to operate a motor vehicle
as well as an ability to utilize air travel.
