In a collaborative manner, help plan, develop, and create effective
marketing communication materials. The Content Marketing Specialist
thinks strategically and holistically; they are a gifted
storyteller with a keen eye for detail and highly creative.
Job Responsibilities
Develop strategic marketing content that supports campaigns
statewide/nationwide and are vendor and/or product specific.
Ability to translate technical product information into clear and
easy to understand value propositions.
Effectively communicate key competitive messages and corporate
mission.
Ability to conduct research and collaborate with internal subject
matter experts, and external customers to create compelling
content.
Work with internal departments (client relationship managers,
training, support, competitive intelligence, product marketing,
product management and sales) on an ad-hoc basis for departmental
content needs.
Excellent communication skills. You are comfortable leading
interviews and discussions with content contributors, subject
matter experts, customers, and internal stakeholders to gain
insights that inform content.
Demonstrated ability to write and execute compelling content such
as blog posts, case studies, fact sheets, sales enablement
collateral, emails, social media, video scripts, and website
content.
Collaborating with marketing and sales team to find relevant
information to create content.
Write, proofread, and edit content with a consistent voice.
Write clear content to promote our
company/people/products/services.
Create concise, eye-catching, and innovative headlines and body
copy.
Research and write a wide variety of topics for multiple
platforms.
Work with supervisor and internal design staff to produce targeted
materials.
Desired Background
5+ years of experience in writing marketing materials,
understanding marketing strategy, and managing creative
deliverables.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism or communications.
Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills, including
interviewing skills, copy writing, and editing.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, including
the ability to manage several complex activities simultaneously and
set priorities.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office. Basic knowledge of
InDesign a plus.
High level of initiative and ability to self-motivate.
Work well independently and as a team.
Strong copy-editing skills and a keen eye for detail.
A love of writing and crafting the perfect message.
Experience working within the education sector is a plus.
Performance Expectations
Perform job responsibilities as directed achieving desired results
within expected time frames and with a high degree of quality and
professionalism.
Establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships
with all staff, customers and business partners
Act as a respectful and effective liaison between Marketing and
other departments while advancing marketing communication
projects.
Demonstrate professional English grammar and spelling skills
consistent with The AP Stylebook when editing and proofreading.
Demonstrate organizational and time management skills including
ability to manage complex activities simultaneously and set
priorities.
Manage multiple projects to completion within deadlines.
Exhibit initiative and the ability to self-motivate via a
persistent and resourceful attitude.
Work an average of eight hours per day onsite and be willing to
work longer hours during busy times.
Extend knowledge of communications and marketing best
practices.
Position must adhere to the practices and procedures outlined in
the master security guidelines.
