Is this a remote / work from home position?: No Young Dance, a Twin Cities dance education nonprofit whose mission is to transform lives through movement, seeks a Marketing and Communications Director, to spearhead communications related to promotions, programming, and fundraising, and will begin June 2021. The Marketing and Communications Director will be responsible for print and web-based communications related to programming, events, general news, and marketing. They will collaborate with other staff to create engagement with new communities, specifically BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities. Founded in 1987, we believe young people are artists with something important to say and that working across differences, be it in age, ability, race, background, is a benefit to all. Young Dance consists of 5 part-time employees, with 6-10 additional teaching faculty. The staff work in close collaboration to develop and implement a long-term vision aligned with our mission and values. We place a strong emphasis on access, representation, and transparency. Young Dance serves approximately 450 youth annually through our classes, youth company, and partnerships. Located in the Midway neighborhood of St. Paul, we currently offer programs in-person and virtually. The Marketing and Communications Director is a 0.45 FTE position with an annual salary of $17,500. --- Experience in Marketing and Design related to communications
--- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
--- Excellent writing skills
--- Effective organization skills with both time and people, work independently and stay focused on multiple priorities and deadlines
--- Reliable phone and internet access
--- Aptitude with and access to Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent design software
--- Aptitude with Photo and Video editing
--- Personal Computer required, as well as applicant's preferred design applications
