The members of our marketing team have an opportunity to help our customers meet their goals, differentiate Ecolab from our competition, and impact the achievement of our aggressive growth targets. We are seeking a Marketing Director to lead the Product Management team within the Food & Beverage Division. The incumbent will provide Business Team and P&L leadership for this business and drive key growth initiatives within these high potential markets. Manage the North American regional portfolio team to deliver on F&B's sales, margin and simplification targets while managing NA labeling and regulatory requirements. Align the North American offering with F&B's broader global preferred products strategy. Identify and share local needs with global PPM. Manage product lifecycle, prevent extensive product proliferation, improve group margins and keep numbers of SKUs low by driving product standardization. Lead and mentor a team of product managers and label associates. Use technical skills and business knowledge to drive revenue and profitability growth and achieve corporate business goals. Serve as a central communication point internally with sales, finance, marketing, supply chain and RD&E to define and execute a strategic product roadmap. This role requires strong analytical, communication and project management skills and will serve as the critical bridge between segment marketing and global PPMs. This role reports directly to the VP of Marketing and requires ability to travel up to 30% of the time. What You Will Do:

  • Product Lifecycle and Portfolio Management
    • Accountable for developing and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of its business environment; including preparing a strategic plan with primary focus on financial performance, market share objective, contingency plans and resource requirements
    • Develop the vision and strategy of the product portfolio - long and short-term profitability
    • Analyze market conditions, identifying sales opportunities in existing and new markets that strategically align with F&B goals
    • Position team to capture new market share and achieve sales and OP growth
    • Monitor product portfolio health and manage product setup, optimization and rationalization (80/20)
    • Translate product value into margin range expectation and create greater transparency for pricing of products for marketers. Work with local Marketers to translate margin range into sales price.
    • Annual review of product pricing and profitability
    • Consult on regional RFPs regarding product profitability.
    • Set cost savings/mix management targets. Close cooperation with regions, GAM organization and CAMs on product standardization and mix optimization.
    • Evaluate Supply chain cost savings and GM initiatives.
    • Communication
      • Communicate formula changes and rationalizations to global and local.
      • Communication with CAMs about portfolio needs.
      • Regular check-ins with regional functional leads and regional in-line maintenance teams.
      • Actively participate in regional phase gate activities.
      • Coordinate Regulatory and Customer Requirements
        • Summarize voice of local Regulatory and local customer requirements into innovation needs.
        • Execute ingredient management plan, commit to phase out timelines and plans.
        • Oversight of regulatory compliance requirements by country.
        • Responsible for compliance with corporate branding and trademark policies. Metrics:
          • Quality & speed of new product introductions
          • Innovation sales and gross margin
          • Product Mix targets Minimum Qualifications:
            • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in Marketing / R&D; Or MBA with 8+ years of experience Marketing / R&D
            • B2B marketing experience
            • Background / education in chemistry, engineering, food science or microbiology Preferred Qualifications:
              • MBA
              • Leadership skills to drive consensus across functions, divisions and lines of business
              • Excellent quantitative problem-solving skills, interpersonal and communications skills are essential
              • Ability to multi-task as well as lead and motivate teams, providing clear direction to ensure flawless execution on a wide variety of projects
              • High initiative, strong communications and relationship building skills
              • Proven track record of delivering sales and margin growth results through cross-functional teams
              • Successful experience driving innovation and product launches
