    Job Summary

    Join our dynamic team at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), where your passion for public health can make a tangible impact on the well-being of all Minnesotans. The Facilities Management (FM) Division is seeking to hire a Facilities Services Coordinator. This position will develop standards for service delivery, monitor outcomes, and manage customer expectations related to Facilities Management Services. This position will manage projects that affect the Minnesota Department of Health with the goal of maintaining the highest level of satisfaction possible and will review customer feedback to ensure constant and never-ending improvement in a transparent and accountable way.

    Key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
    • Coordination and support for Facilities Management (FM) projects and initiatives.
    • Coordinate Support Services for Hybrid Work Environment (i.e.: access to print services, reservation systems, help desk request triage)
    • Develop, promote, and implement unit specific continuous quality improvement activities by evaluating process data, designing, or improving processes, and aligning FM processes with strategic goals and objectives.
    • Perform special Facilities projects, as directed, or assigned, so the goals and needs of the agency are met.
      This is a hybrid telework position that requires in-office work in the downtown St. Paul location. Telework will be based on the business needs of the unit and is at supervisory discretion. This position is expected to be onsite at least three days per week (full-time / five days per week during project coordination).

      Qualifications

      Minimum Qualifications
      • Two years or more of experience in facilities services, property management, construction, business administration or a related field.
      • Experience in project administration or building operations.
        Additional minimum qualifications to be assessed at interview:
        • Ability to evaluate existing processes, anticipate needs and make recommendations for change, determine appropriate work methods, facilitate change, and develop thorough written procedures.
        • Ability to analyze and interpret existing policies and procedures and possess the ability to diagnose and solve problems using sound judgment and decision-making skills.
        • Ability to formulate and initiate plans and direct their execution and document the work performed.
        • Knowledge of financial analysis to monitor budgets and expenditures.
        • Knowledge of contract procedures, work measurement, and management techniques.
          Preferred Qualifications
          • Working knowledge and use of AutoCad Software in a non-production environment.
          • Familiarity with data inventory systems such as directories, telework tracking, equipment inventories, reservation systems.
          • Demonstrated interaction with customers related to services managed.
          • Business Administration quality enhancement training such as Six Sigma certification.
          • Ability to read construction drawings at a level required to review and approve layout plans drawn by a designer and provide instructions to warehouse furniture and equipment installers.
            Physical Requirements

            Must be able to move up to 50 pounds and be able to position self for field measurements and survey of existing systems furniture and infrastructure.
