Business Development Support Manager - Executive Education BD Pro1 - Sales Operations, 8341SO
The BD Support Manager is responsible for administrative duties, operational/administrative support to the Business Development team within Carlson Executive Education and report to the Associate Director of Business Development. This role will support the Business Development team in administrative duties such proposal development, sales information management, scheduling appointments with prospective clients and new leads based on lead outreach. Will work closely with marketing, Business Development, and finance to create and/or update effective, strategic, and competitive sales proposals. In addition, will work with sales customers during the sales process to maximize benefits that may include handling customer concerns and issues. Schedule department meetings, take notes and hold others accountable for action items established in those meetings. Additional responsibilities will include collecting and analyzing data to assist in forecasting revenue, trends, and other sales-related statistics. Will create sales and revenue forecasts and product reports that provide insight and guidance to management for sales strategy development and efficiency. The salary range for this position is $55,000-$60,000.
BD Team Operational Admin Support (40%)

  • Creates and/or reviews client discussion documents and proposals which includes creating a custom P&L, updating custom P&L's based on any identified changes to assure forecast accuracy.
  • Work with internal University departments to create and approve client agreements for custom programs
  • Provides sales support to our Open programs, which includes using Salesforce CRM to provide roster accuracy and general lead outreach on an as needed basis.
  • Collect and analyze data that drive sales performances - ie sales trends, other sales related statistics.
  • Responsible for sales analysis, including the creation of reports needed for the analysis.
  • Create sales and revenue forecasts in collaboration with Assistant Dean and Associate Director of Business Development for custom programsMarketing & Communications Admin Support (30%)
    • Communicates with faculty and Associate Director of Operations on program scheduling.
    • Update and manage Business Development and Events budget
    • Manage events with internal and external partners to increase visibility of Carlson Executive Education.
    • Assure all marketing materials needed for events are ready and available for the various events in conjunction with marketing.
    • Be the liaison between Business Development and Operations related to custom programs to assure a smooth custom program transition between processes.
    • Provide a high level of service and promptly respond to clients.Client Relationship Management Support (20%)
      • Actively cultivate and nurture positive, productive relationships with Executive Educations' clients.
      • Resolve issues related to client satisfaction expediently; Make recommendations as appropriate to enhance and improve client satisfaction.
      • Escalate situations in a timely fashion when appropriate.
      • Provide professional level support to Carlson School's Executive Education clientele using a high level of professionalism and business acumen.Additional Administrative Support (10%)
        • Manage certificate process including administrating electronic badges via University of Minnesota's enrollment system
        • Assist Business Development team with CRM tasks including contact maintenance, tracking cancels and transfers, and generating reports
        • Provide administrative support to the Business Development Team such as, customer quotes, sales information management, schedule meetings and appointments, take notes and keep track of action items and add to Asana.*The employer reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position*


          Required Qualifications
          • BA/BS degree or combination of related education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years.
          • Ability to establish priorities, detail oriented, work independently, and process objectives with minimal supervision. Critical thinker, Self-Starter, multi-tasker and capable of quickly shifting focus.
          • Relationship oriented individual with appreciation for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and in our program offerings.
