Coulee Bank, a family-owned community bank with branches in St.
Paul, Rochester, La Crosse and the surrounding areas is hiring for
a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will be collaborating
closely with the Controller and CFO to implement real change
throughout the business. In addition, this person will play a key
role in the accounting department as we look to grow beyond $500MM

Prepares financial reports for management, directors, and
government agencies. Collaborates with internal departments to
produce accurate reports.
Financial reporting both internally and externally in compliance
Maintenance and Enhancement of all data channels that ultimately
land on the general ledger including direct entry to GL, external
data sources, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
Compliance with all internal controls related to accounting and
financial reporting for SOX compliance.
Forecasting and data analysis
Respond to requests related to exams and audits by the Bank's
internal audit department, external auditors and banking
Collaborate with external accountant regarding the preparation of
annual income tax returns
Overall ownership of self-prepared tax filings including sales &
use, personal property, & annual 1099 filings.
Participate in preparation of internal and external financial and
regulatory reports, primarily consisting of:
Monthly financial reports to the Board of Directors and executive
leadership including budgeting/forecasting
Monthly, Quarterly, and annual US GAAP consolidated financial
FFIEC Bank Call Report
Federal Reserve reports on Y-6, Y-8, Y-9SP and Y-10
Annual report under FDICIA Part 363 for a $500MM+ banking
Education and Certifications :
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Must include experience in preparation and review of financial
documents, such as US GAAP financial statements and SEC filings;
accounting operations and internal controls; budgeting and
financial analysis. Exposure to at least one of the big three
banking core processors (Jack Henry, FiServ, FIS) is desirable.
Prior financial services industry experience is preferred.
Skills and Qualifications :
Must have a demonstrated ability to collaborate with operational
and sales side of business on accounting related matters. Must
possess excellent skills in oral and written communication with
different levels of the organization, technical accounting
research; interpersonal and supervisory skills; financial and data
analysis; project and time management. Must have advanced
understanding of technical accounting rules; internal control over
financial reporting; accounting information systems; utilizing
desktop applications for document preparation and financial and
data analysis; and accounting operations.
