Our work focuses on a large portfolio of transformational digital products, channels, and efforts as we partner with each other, technology, business, brand and leadership teams to deliver on the promise of making it easy to do business with Thomson Reuters.About the RoleThe Content Taxonomist and Strategist role will help build a world-class, intuitive, and comprehensive navigational structure and content strategy to optimize our product experience from discovery through usage. You will directly and significantly impact the customer experience and making it easy for customers to engage with our products. This role will also be responsible for partnering with an E-commerce taxonomist to classify products within the Thomson Reuters portfolio.Create and build:* Develop taxonomies and attribute sets to improve product findability and shopping experience for ThomsonReuters.com.* Develop browse structures to organize our content category, brands, product taxonomies, and help/support content for our global footprint* Manage, maintain, and iterate on product attributes that power ranking models, structured content, faceted search, product comparisons, and more* Build out categories and custom collections of products that power features like recommendations, similar items, and merchandising themes* Create labels and other interface language that are consistent with the customers voice, content standards, and that can scale appropriately for internationalization needsBe part of a collaborative team:* Analyze new requests and provide rationale and solution documentation to solve taxonomy and item creation challenges* Work with localization to ensure that the taxonomy works across languages and cultures.* Coordinate cross-functional projects with a broad range of merchandisers, engineers, UX designers, and other groups* Work with engineering team to maximize the effectiveness of the infrastructure and tools that support the taxonomyBe an effective communicator:* Create standards and workflow requirements for product information and champion the adherence to these standards* Create and maintain documentation for managing item creation, taxonomies, and additional product data* Make recommendations about ongoing taxonomy management as well as product strategies and features that rely on taxonomyBe curious and innovative:* Analyze website metrics and customer behavior data to make intelligent decisions on optimizing our taxonomy navigation structures* Maximize the effectiveness of the technology infrastructure that supports item creation, taxonomy and additional product and article information and work to improve tools and processes* Conduct iterative evaluations of taxonomy design based on customer feedback (usability testing, interviews, cognitive walk-through, heuristic reviews)About YouEssential Skills and Experience:* 8+ years developing and managing product taxonomies, attributes and content strategy to inform the information architecture for E-commerce web sites, apps, or software. A background in library science is a plus* Experience using taxonomy management systems to maintain categories, attributes, and other metadata* The ability to move fast and work with cross-functional teams on big, ambiguous problems* The ability to think at a high level about product strategy while setting and implementing a broad vision* The ability to build alignment amongst distributed stakeholders* A portfolio or other work samples showing the impact of your taxonomy and content strategy workPreferred Qualifications* Ontology development and information domain modeling experience* Metadata design experience* Product/UX content strategy experienceWhat's in it For YouAt Thomson Reuters, our people are our greatest assets.
