About the Job
The Adult Blood and Marrow Transplantation & Cellular Therapy
(BMT/CT) Program, Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota
Medical School, is seeking a physician scientist with training and
experience in blood and marrow transplantation and cellular
therapy. The Division invites applications for an Academic Track
position at the rank of late Assistant, Associate, or Full
Professor. Rank and Track focus will be determined by experience
and qualifications.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in human immunology and
molecular biology, expertise in blood and marrow transplantation &
cellular therapy, as well as independent external peer-reviewed
research funding (NIH preferred). This position will help to
further develop our BMT/CT Program's basic/translational research
programs to funnel new ideas from bench to bedside. This individual
will also participate in the inpatient and outpatient clinical care
of patients at the University of Minnesota MHeath Fairview.
Laboratory space and a competitive start-up package are included.
The University of Minnesota Medical School provide a collaborative
research environment that is well-suited for the mentorship and
advancement of physician scientists. Opportunities to participate
in the educational mission of the Medical School and Department
also exist. The appropriate candidate could also serve as a
co-leader of the Transplant and Cell Therapy Program in the Masonic
Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (BMT/CT)
Program at the University of Minnesota has been at the forefront of
advances since performing the world's first successful BMT in 1968.
Since then, our teams have performed more than 9000 BMTs. Our
Program continues development in translational immunology, BMT and
cellular therapy, and expand its portfolio of novel clinical
trials.

Qualifications
Applicants must have the ability to receive work authorization in
the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration
Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of
VISA category while in the United States.
* Required: M.D. and Board Eligible or Certified in
Hematology/Oncology
* Extensive training and experience in blood and marrow
transplantation and cellular therapy
* Demonstrate excellence in patient care
* Track record of external funding, NIH preferable
* Must have or be able to attain a medical license in the state of
Minnesota
* Must be able to pass credentialing
